LevelsWhere should your dancer begin?
We’ve divided our dancers by age & skill level. Dancers wishing to take classes labeled “Intermediate” or Level I and higher, need approval from our director and instructors before attending. Divisions ARE NOT set in stone. If a younger student demonstrates mastery of the skills their age group offers, they may test into older, more advanced classes. Additionally, if a student needs increased technique, they may be asked to attend a class at a lower level or age category.
All dancers must have teacher approval and be registered before attending classes.
How do we determine when a dancer moves up a level?
A dancer’s transition to a more advanced level is unique to each student. The amount of time spent in any level is directly related to the amount of effort they put into class and how quickly they apply the corrections given by their instructor. When a dancer demonstrates mastery of the techniques required for the level they attend, they may, with teacher approval, move to the next level.
We typically review our dancer’s progress and determine placement in the fall and beginning of summer.
