Parking at Colorado’s Finest High School   300 W Chenango Ave, Englewood, CO 80110 There is limited parking at the school.  If it’s full when you arrive please park along the curb in the surrounding neighborhood.

School Entrance: We do not enter through the main school entrance.  As you face the main entrance, you will see double doors about 50 feet to the right.  There is a sidewalk leading to them. That is where we enter.

Food at Colorado’s Finest High School  Please be sure your Dancer has a healthy snack before just before they arrive.

A snack high in protein is best.

This school has just completely remodeled their auditorium including all new carpet and seating.  There is absolutely no food allowed in the auditorium.  Anything that is eaten is not allowed.  Our signed contract with the school states that breaking their rule can result in immediate expulsion of our event… no refunds.   We MAY eat in the tiled lobby area.  If you have a little one who must have a bit to eat, they may enjoy a snack there.    They DO NOT allow food in the costume rooms either.  These are school classrooms and once again the NO FOOD rule applies.  Your dancer may bring their water bottle with water only please into the dressing area.

Security:  Check In & Check Out  All of our dancers must Check In and Check out at Colorado’s Finest High School.
This includes our Teens who may check themselves In and Out.    Why?   Safety! We must be sure all dancers are accounted for before we begin our presentation and want to be sure all dancers are in the arms of their families when our presentation is finished. Also… in the event of an emergency, we need to be able to tell first responders if any of our dancers are unaccounted for.

What’s Happens Next?   After you check in:

Mustard Seed 1, 2 & 3 dancers may take one parent beyond the double doors to the special Mustard Seeds dressing area.  (No siblings please)  Miss Tammy Prince is our Mustard Seeds Queen. She will be assisted by 2 delightful Teen Dancers and some parent volunteers who will help you get your dancer into costume. Once your dancer is ready, please take them for a last minute restroom break…and follow the directions below…

All other dancers… say good bye to Parents at the Check-In Table and enter the dressing area through the double doors.  The boys and girls dressing areas are separate and marked.   Find your costumes.  They will be hanging on our racks in alphabetical order.  Change into your costume… put your street clothes in your Dance Bag and head to the hall.  Our Runners will take you to your seats in the auditorium. Remember to bring your water bottle, J

Restroom Breaks for Dancers: Our Row Monitors and Ushers will team up to make sure our dancers make the journey to and from the restroom across the lobby safely.  Dancers may be asked to wait until 2 or 3 Dancers need to make the trip.

Tah Dah!  When each of our presentations are finished: All dancers will take a final bow and may go into the audience to greet family and friends. Costumed dancers must stay in the auditorium. Please don’t venture to the lobby until you’ve changed into street clothes and checked out.

* Family members may not come up on the stage…

Late Seating: Joyful Soles Dance abides by the same seating rules other performance venues abide by.

Guests arriving after our program has started will be seated when there is a break/applause                                                       between dances. Thank you for understanding.

Striking our set!    If your family can stay after our Sunday 3pm production and help us load and clean it would be greatly appreciated!  We have 30min to strike our set…and vanish. As soon as our presentation is finished… we will begin loading all of our Sets, Props and Costumes into a big moving truck. Then, we must clean the auditorium, stage and classrooms removing any evidence that we’ve been there.  Once the school is in order… we need to drive directly to our storage unit and unload all of our set pieces and larger props…  Many hands and cars would be wonderful!

 Costumes – Makeup – Hair

Costumes: To be sure we protect the privacy of our dancers as we change costumes in a shared space, we ask that our young ladies wear a nude camisole style leotard and pink tights and our young men wear compression shorts and a white tank top to our dress rehearsals and productions.  Dancers layer their costumes over these undergarments... then after our event, everyone wears their basic layer home.  This way... no one is ever seen in their underwear or less... by others.

(PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DANCE BAG TO KEEP YOUR STREET CLOTHES IN)

Make Up: Stage lighting is very bright...  it can make the healthiest dancer look sickly.... so... we use minimal makeup to create a “Natural” look.   If your family doesn’t allow makeup, you dancer doesn’t need to wear it.

 To create a uniform picture…

Lip stain only please.  It doesn’t smudge or wipe off on costumes.  You can remove it with soap and water.
There are several brands on the market so pick the one that agrees with your dancer’s chemistry and your budget.

Our Mustard Seed 1, 2 & 3 Ladies please wear a light pink.

Ladies ages 7 and up – Please wear a burgundy/wine.  We need pink undertones… not red.

All Boys & Men please wear a brownish lip stain

L'Oréal® Paris Infallible® Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Nude” found at Kohl’s is a good color option.

Blush – All Dancers please use a medium pink.

Eye Shadow- Light Browns and Creams...  We want to look natural.

The link below is a tutorial for Teens. The demonstration is much more than we need to do but a good example of how to create a natural look under bright light.   Please keep your dancer's makeup simple.  If you choose to use a base... please use setting powder so makeup stays on our dancers instead of their costumes.  Thank you.

Make up for Ladies:    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjk9gDS8rxg

Hair:      Ladies, please arrive at rehearsals and productions with your hair in a bun.  We will have helpers to tuck in stray pieces or spray a few wild hairs... but... with only 1 hr before each production... we can't do full hairstyles for all of our dancers.  This “Bun” tutorial is very helpful.  You can find the hair nets at Wal-Greens and Wal-Mart or on line. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yoEJ3Tbf8

              Gentlemen:
Please arrive with your hair neatly combed.  Hair gel is a great idea.  We want your hair to stay in place for about 3 hours!

Thank you for taking the time to read and process all of this information.

May HIS Name be glorified in all we do.

 Miss Tami
